Andrew Williamson has worked as a lead concept artist on all of the Harry Potter films, including the forthcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and Part II. Trained as an architect at Cambridge University and certified in 1990, he worked on the new British Library at Euston and a number of commercial and residential projects. His work has been published in numerous architectural publications, The Art of Batman Begins (2005), and he is currently developing a series of comic book projects.

Das Pop-up Buch von Bruce Foster, Andrew Williamson und Lucy Kee über die Harry Potter Filme ist einfach wunderschön.Es ist ungefähr 27x22cm groß und umfasst 6 Doppelseiten.Gleich auf der ersten Doppelseite befinden sich ein Umschlag mit Postern darin und ein Heuler zum Aufklappen. Danach geht es weiter mit fantastischen detailreichen Szenen und Landschaften aus den Filmen, wobei Hogwarts natürlich das Highlight ist! Überall sind noch weitere kleine Türchen versteckt, die man aufklappen kann und außerdem befinden sich auf jeder Seite Texte, die Informationen über den Filmdreh geben. Die Texte sind für Kinder noch etwas schwierig, aber mit Hilfe der Eltern, sollte das schon gehen. Für Fans, ob Kind oder Erwachsener, einfach wunderbar und ein echtes Schmuckstück! Ich liebe es :)

Ich habe ja bei jedem Pop Up ein bisschen gequietscht, weil es so cool ist. Man muss ein wenig vorsichtig sein, damit auch alles heile bleibt, aber es ist wirklich sehr, sehr niedlich.Auf jeden Fall auf englisch kaufen. Ist 24€ günstiger als die deutsche Version und es gibt auch wenig zu lesen. Die Texte stehen hier ja auch nicht im Vordergrund ;)Es sind aber halt auch nur 12 Seiten. Also ein kurzes Vergnügen...

Die einzelnen Pop-Ups sind toll gearbeitet und öffnen sich wirklich gut. Faszinierend, wie sich ein komplettes Schloss entfaltet.Für Harry Potter Liebhaber und vielleicht noch Pop-Up Buch Sammler ein Muss!

Freundin hats auf Weihnachten bekommen und holt es bis heute ab und zu noch aus dem Schrank und blättert es durch. Ist sehr schön und liebevoll aufgemacht. Haben ein Regal mit Harry-Potter-Zeug wie Figuren, Bücher usw. Hätten wir mehr Platz dort würde es auch aufgeklappt als Deko schön aussehen.Ganz toll für Fans der Filme.

Ich kann das Buch nur jedem empfehlen, der Harry Potter Fan ist. Es ist wirklich ganz toll gemacht. Für den Preis so wie so... Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung!

Artikel fiel viel größer aus, als angenommen. Schöne Aufmachung. Lieferung erfolgte sehr pünktlich. Bin auf die Reaktion meines Enkels sehr gespannt.

Das Buch ist auf Englisch. Es ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gemacht. Man entdeckt immer wieder neue Details. Für Fans zu empfehlen.

when i saw the book on amazon i thought it was nice and a good present. now that it arrived, it's AMAZING! yeah ok, it has 6 pages, not much. but this 6 pages are absolutely worth it!! without a doubt one of the coolest pop up books in my collection! best price!

It was an amazing story. Once I started reading I found it difficult to put the book down. The story is well woven with the different characters showing how their individual personalities change throughout the novel. It gives a great perspective of how the Japanese occupation affected so many people in Singapore.

The reality that shines through this work of fiction surprised me. At the end of the book I was moved and almost sad it wasn't true. But it seems to have given insight into many true stories by bringing life to one amalgamation of all.

"How We Disappeared", Jing-Jing Lee's novel about one of the "comfort women" and her grandson's unraveling the mystery of her life promised great things. Unfortunately it did not live up to the promise of a compelling story that was tightly written and satisfying both emotionally and thematically.Wang Di, a seventeen year old girl, was conscripted by Japanese invaders in her village, located in Singapore. Taken to a black-and-white house, a Japanese brothel, she "serviced" Japanese soldiers. Friendships between the comfort women and their concern for one another enabled her to survive until the end of the war.This novel takes place in three different settings - the village where Wang Di lived before her capture; the brothel; and in her son's home both before and following her death. Further, it takes place during three time periods - Wang Di's life before and after World War II and the present day in which her grandson takes center stage . The novel shifts among these periods and settings randomly, providing glimpses of the impact of her past on her present life and that of her family.Jing-Jing Lee formats "How We Disappeared" in an interesting and somewhat unusual manner. Portions of the novel prior to and after World War II and Wang Di's captivity are narrated in the third person. It is as if the story was of someone else's life and not that of the protagonist. Portions of the novel in which she was held captive as a "comfort woman" are narrated in the first person. It is as if Wang Di must remind herself of her true identity and her individuality. Kevin also narrates the chapters in which he takes the lead in the first person voice. This allows him to tell his grandmother's story in a more personal manner and to draw the reader into his quest to discover her truths.If I were able, I would give "How We Disappeared" 3.5 stars. Portions of the novel are very engrossing, while other parts seem to meander and become vague.

I generally like point-of-view narratives and especially from a different perspective from myself.I found, however, that I didn't like author, Jing-Jing Lee's writing style.We have two main characters Wang Di and Kevin.She starts out with a rush description of her birth to a widow: all within just a few pages.What I found is that Ms. Lee spent too much time dwelling on things such as a description of her home or mundane activities of her day when she could have focused on her development as a woman instead of waiting much later in the book to deal with that.The relationship with her husband "Old One" was also hit-and-miss for me. And, although, she debated on whether to confront him about alleged infidelities that went on for decades, she doesn't.The transition between Wang Di and Kevin was also a bit dry.Kevin's story isn't much more interesting either.***There was a story that I read a few years ago about a single woman who lived in a small village in Poland during the Nazi occupation. And, here to, you're seeing through her eyes and her actions how she overcame the circumstances and saved a family and a soldier's life with the army tanks parked just a few feet away from her door.That story, My Mother's Secret, had me spellbound. I felt like I knew her and her daughter. I knew the people in the neighborhood, even so much as smelling the food she bought everyday from the market. I also felt the terror of Polish citizens being rounded up and never heard and seen again. It was a wonderful and empowering story.***Don't get me wrong, there were a few interesting moments in How We Disappeared, but they were few and far between. I don't know if you could let a story flounder for too long in passages that don't move the story along without losing the reader's interest.
